Climbing / Abseiling
The Activity Centre is also equipped with its own climbing and abseiling wall ranging in two different levels of intensity. The lower level is ideal for beginners who are abseiling / climbing for the first time. The second stage is higher for the more adventurous. For those with the appropriate qualifications and equipment. A copy of these qualifications must be presented to the Park Commissioner upon arrival or returned with the booking form.

For those who would like to use the wall but are not qualified, sessions can be booked with the Park’s instructors in either climbing or abseiling. (Tuition and equipment will be provided) Please ask about this option when arranging dates to visit with the Park Secretary.

Please Note: that  accordance with insurance restrictions Climbing and Abseiling is only available to Members of The Scout Association and cannot be offered to other Groups.

Archery
The Activity Centre has a permanent archery backstop net strung across its width to create an Indoor Archery Layout as described in the Archery Fact Sheet provided by the Scout Information Centre. For those with the appropriate qualifications and equipment, the net is available when hiring the Activity Centre. A copy of these qualifications must be presented to the Park Commissioner upon arrival or returned with the booking form.

For those who would like to undertake archery but are not qualified, sessions can be booked with the Park’s instructors. (Tuition and equipment will be provided) Please ask about this option when arranging dates to visit with the Park Commissioner.  

Pioneering
Located near the stairwell of the climbing tower is the Activity Parks collection of pioneering poles. These are provided free of charge when booking the Activity Centre and are perfect as part of a wet weather program. (For Safety purposes campers must supply their own ropes)

Tomahawk and Angel Throwing

We now offer Tomahawk’s and Angels that can be used with registered instructors, We have several targets that can be hired along with the Hawks and Angels themselves, we offer indoor or outdoor provision for both.

Kayaking and Canoeing

Offsite Kayaking and Canoeing can be offered for groups of up to eight people at a time (including leaders).  All equipment (including necessary safety equipment) can be provided on a per session or per day rate.

Sessions are led by CRAI Activity’s experienced instructors on local waterways.

High Ropes

Crate Stacking, Prussiking or Cave Ladder climbing sessions are available on site with all equipment and qualified instructors provided.  Up to two sessions each of up to eight participants can be run simultaneously.

Air Rifle Target Shooting

A four target range is available on site with break barrel rifles and all other equipment provided.  Sessions for up to twelve participants can be run by our NSRA qualified instructors.
