Activities

Climbing / Abseiling
The Activity Centre is also equipped with its own climbing and abseiling wall ranging in two different levels of intensity. The lower level is ideal for beginners who are abseiling / climbing for the first time. The second stage is higher for the more adventurous. For those with the appropriate qualifications and equipment, the wall is available when hiring the Activity Centre. A copy of these qualifications must be presented to the Park Commissioner upon arrival or returned with the booking form.

For those who would like to use the wall but are not qualified, sessions can be booked with the Park’s instructors in either climbing or abseiling. (Tuition and equipment will be provided) Please ask about this option when arranging dates to visit with the Park Secretary.

Bouldering
A new addition to the Activity Centre is a bouldering wall for the less experienced or for those who wish to remain low to the ground! This is free to use and is available when hiring the Activity Centre. (Great as part of a wet weather programme)

Archery
The Activity Centre has a permanent archery backstop net strung across its width to create an Indoor Archery Layout as described in the Archery Fact Sheet provided by the Scout Information Centre. For those with the appropriate qualifications and equipment, the net is available when hiring the Activity Centre. A copy of these qualifications must be presented to the Park Commissioner upon arrival or returned with the booking form.

PLEASE NOTE: In compliance with the information provided by the Scout Association and The Grand National Archery Society NO other activity may take place in the Activity Centre when the indoor archery layout is operating. For further information please consult the park’s Archery Risk Assessment.

For those who would like to undertake archery but are not qualified, sessions can be booked with the Park’s instructors. (Tuition and equipment will be provided) Please ask about this option when arranging dates to visit with the Park Commissioner.

Pioneering
Located near the stairwell of the climbing tower is the Activity Parks collection of pioneering poles. These are provided free of charge when booking the Activity Centre and are perfect as part of a wet weather programme. (For Safety purposes campers must supply their own ropes)
